The Computer Science, Engineering, Architecture, and Technology Department at Del Mar College offers an Associate of Science degree in Computer Programming (Computer Science - CS). This program is intended for those students who ultimately seek a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in CS at upper-level colleges and universities. Our CS program provides required academic core courses, computer programming courses: Programming Fundamentals I (CS1), Programming Fundamentals II (CS2), and Programming Fundamentals III (CS3) as defined for the computer programming field-of-study, as well as a Computer Organization and Machine Language course. There is a full mathematics course sequence including Calculus I, II, III and Differential Equations. The Computer Science Programming degree prepares graduates with the theoretical and technical foundations to pursue further post-baccalaureate research and education at the Master and Doctoral levels. Graduates may also choose to teach at secondary and post-secondary institutions, or work in various employment sectors providing software design, programming, and software engineering services.
